Lopresser home med and taking 1/2 50 mg tablet
Question: How is a nurse supposed to enter that the patient is taking less than the lowest dosage listed?
In this example the patient is instructed to take 1/2 of a 50mg lopresser tablet. If selecting lopressor as the home med, 25mg is not an option.
There is the generic name Metoprolol tartrate 25 mg form, however with this specific question, the patient might have been instructed to take 1/4 tablet also. How this should be charted?
Answer: Select the closest dose form available. Enter the ½ or ¼ in the comment field.
